At JCC we believe that God owns everything (Psalm 24:1 “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it” ) and lovingly invites us to worship him and invest in his kingdom (Matthew 6:20-21 ”But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”).
This invitation to give is guided by the principles of:
2 Corinthians 9:7
Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
1 Corinthians 16:1-2
Now about the collection for God’s people: Do what I told the Galatian churches to do. On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.
2 Corinthians 8:1-7
And now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints. And they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God’s will. So we urged Titus, since he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion this act of grace on your part. But just as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.
Place your gifts in an offering box by the back doors.
Establish an automatic withdrawal from your checking or savings account.
Give online via eCheck or *debit card.
Mail your contribution to the church office.
May our giving not end with the money, but may we also volunteer our talents and time, as we use the gifts God has given each of us for the common good.
*Why is using my checking account better for Jamul Community Church?
When you allow your gift to be withdrawn directly from your checking account, the church is charged a transaction fee of 25 cents. When you use your debit card, the church is charged a transaction fee of 45 cents plus an additional percentage (up to 3%) fee on the transaction amount. For every $1,000 given, this is an extra $30 that the church never receives. The savings really do add up!
