Gary – Senior Pastor
“I joined the staff at Jamul Community Church in 1987 and became the lead pastor in 1990. Prior to that I served nearly 20 years as a youth pastor at several churches. My wife Esther and I have been married for over 40 years, we have 5 children and 8 grandchildren. Having a built-in desire to know people, I’m energized by watching people come to put their faith in Christ and grow in their faith.”
Danny – Administrative and Generations Pastor
“September 1995 was a great month, Nikki and I got married, and I started serving at JCC as the youth pastor. Whether it’s teaching on Sundays, leading Thrive midweeks, hanging out with students at an amusement park or wherever I am, I love watching God come alive in the lives of students. When I’m not doing church stuff I enjoy being with Nikki and our three kids, Keri, Bobby, and Elli doing just about anything!”
Vic – Pastor, Missions & Outreach
“I love JCC! Since 1979 this group of people have been committed to sharing the love of Jesus around the world. I am honored to serve them as we continue to develop our outreach and missions programs.
My passion is to live out the call of Christ to share His message of redemption locally and around the world through service, outreach, partnerships and proclamation and JCC is the perfect place to do that!”
Alongside serving JCC as Outreach pastor Vic also oversees Action Sports Outreach a non profit using action sports as a tool to reach the world with the gospel.
Vic and his wife Shelly live in Jamul with their 3 children.
Diane – Elementary Director
“It is a joy to serve at Jamul Community Church as the Elementary Children’s Director. My own children grew up in JCC KidsWorld, and I am thankful for the opportunity to partner with other families as they teach their children about God’s great love. It is also a privilege to share the good news of Christ with the kids of our community through Sonshine Club, Adventure Week, and other ministries. On a personal note, I grew up here in Jamul. I left when I was nineteen to attend Biola University as a Christian Education major. While studying there I married my high school sweetheart, Grant Sitton. After graduation we started our family. While raising our three kids, Kendra, Gareth, and Weston, God has given me various opportunities to serve him. Usually, these opportunities have focused on children. My most important ministry over all the years has been to daily seek Him with all my heart.”
Jennifer – Pre-School Director
“JCC has been like a second home to me since I was in fifth grade. I truly love the people of this church, and especially the kids! I am honored that God has called me to serve our preschoolers and their families. It is my fervent prayer that every child at JCC will grow up to love Jesus, like I did……and like my own kids are doing now. God is so good! Along with this wonderful church family, He has blessed me with the best husband and two children who are growing up way too fast! Ryan and I love spending our time at the pool, theater, and baseball field cheering them on.
Even though we live in El Cajon now, I will always be a Jamulian at heart.”
Denise – Church Secretary
“In 1999 our family moved to this beautiful country town of Jamul. The first week we were here, we thought we would try out the local church and walked into the doors of Jamul Community Church. We immediately found our new church family that day and knew it was home for all of us! Our five children could not wait to go back each week as JCC has a dynamic children’s and youth ministry that nurtures and teaches our children the Gospel and love of Christ. The solid, Bible based teaching of pastor Gary and the love exuding from others is what makes it such a unique and special place. JCC also offers us and our growing family the ability and recourses to serve within the church, the community and around the world. It is such a joy to now watch our own adult children lead others at JCC and within our community. I love it here and feel so blessed to be able to serve and love others while working side by side with the most wonderful staff and pastor!”
Donna – Financial Secretary
“After moving to Jamul over 25 years ago, my family began attending JCC. We knew that we wanted to be involved in a church in our community and JCC certainly was a perfect fit for allowing us to do just that. Through the years, our family has served in many capacities, but I began serving in the office as the finance secretary in 2004. What a privilege it is to be able to work with a staff that loves the Lord and seeks to serve Him in every detail of our day to day planning and performance. I look forward to seeing what God has planned for us, both as a family and as a church community. I know God will be at the center of it and there will be no limitations if we truly endeavor to Know, Love & Serve.”
Jessica – Graphic Arts
“Jamul has been my home since the summer of 2013. I have never loved a community as much as I love Jamul. Waking up every morning in Jamul is a constant reminder of God’s immaculate glory, it is truly “Haven in the Hills”, as they say. The beauty of the rolling hills isn’t the only reason why I fell in love with Jamul, I owe most of that love to Jamul Community Church. I started attending JCC when I met my husband Justin, that same summer I moved to Jamul. I was immediately embraced with love and genuine care, JCC gave me a sense of community that was foreign to me, yet was so precious, I treasured it. I started working at JCC in August of 2016, and it has truly been a joy to be apart of the staff who Knows The Word of God, Loves God & His children, and Serves His people. I am so blessed God placed me at JCC. Working at JCC has allowed me to utilize the gifts God has given me to expand His Kingdom, I couldn’t be more grateful. For “ When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would have not a single bit of talent left and could say, ‘ I used everything you gave me.’ ”

Hayley – Associate Thrive Director
“While I have only recently moved to Jamul, January 2018, it has quickly become my community! I started attending JCC shortly after graduating from Biola University and instantly felt welcome. I became involved with Impact and then served as a Team Unplugged counselor for high school students before beginning this role as Assistant Thrive Director. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting involved and getting to know the JCC family, especially the middle school and high school students. I am excited about how God is moving in our students and feel privileged to get to be a part of His work!”
Peggy – Church Secretary
“I came to JCC many years ago because I wanted my daughter to grow up having a church family that would nurture, teach and love her… little did I know we would receive so much more than that! Because of JCC I came to know Jesus Christ in a personal way, which directed my life on a completely different course, one which has purpose and meaning for this life and eternity. I love my church!”
Melissa – Thrive and Kids World Administrator
“I started attending Jamul Community Church in 2005. I began serving in student ministry then became an intern in 2006. And now God has brought me back to work here, what could be better. I love the people of this church! It has been a wonderful blessing to me and my family. When I’m not working I craft…a lot. My husband Nathan and I were married in 2010 and have one son, Reed. We live in Lemon Grove but hope one day to call Jamul home.”
Nadja – Webdesigner
“I have a passion for webdesign and graphic design and love to serve at Jamul Community Church. JCC became my home church in 2012 and I can’t imagine a better place for me to be: my home is where my church is! Coming from Rancho San Diego my husband, my three daughters and I moved to Jamul in 2014. God has brought me here and I will be forever grateful that He not only called and saved me, but that He also blessed me with this church. I am excited to be plugged into a loving church like JCC and to be surrounded by God’s people on a daily basis. I hope to lead people to Christ and to change lives.”
